At Formula 1 lofts our aim is very simple and that is to win each and every race we enter be that 90 miles or 700 miles. Formula 1 lofts is owned by John Gladwin & John Cowlin we both race separately myself as Gladwin & Jarvis and John Cowlin as himself. We have both been around pigeons all our life in fact the Jarvis part of my flying name comes from my wife’s Theresa maiden name and where did we meet at a pigeon do with her father being a very good pigeon flyer as well. So she has been around pigeons all her life and she still can’t pick one up but she is very good at letting them out etc.
After much consideration we decided to set up formula 1 lofts in 2002 we then spent the next 18 months looking around for the best pigeons we could find with 3 main things in mind when we looked at each family of pigeons were firstly they must be from someone who was winning in good competition for a number of years. Secondly and probably most important was there were winning for others in many areas. And thirdly they were winning the types of races and over the same type of terrain as ours would have to race over. With this in mind the first name which kept coming up was M&D Evans Myrtle lofts and this was confirmed after there performance in the 2003 1 loft race. The second name which we kept seeing was that of Ron Williamson of Ireland fame and the results of this fancier are out of this world and more importantly he is also breeding many winners for others as well. We have also added some cracking Staf Van Reets from Mark Caudwell for the sprint races and from the first race we sent these they have won.
It has took us 3 years to put these family’s together and we have added quality birds each year from these familys but we believe we have put together an outstanding gene pool to work with not all of the pigeons we have will bred winners but rest a sured any that don’t bred the goods don’t stay here long however we don’t sell any old birds which have been bred from for two reasons the first being if they aren’t good enough for us they aren’t good enough for you and secondly if they are breeding the goods we don’t want to sell them for any amount of money. As stated above our main aim is to bred pigeons to win races both for ourselves and others and to continually improve our stock to this end no money is taken out for ourselves all is put back in to improve our stock and replace any that with a heavy heart we have had to move on no matter how much we paid for it.
Some of our top results in the last 3 years this is just our results not the many top results others have had with our birds.
